Athletics Update

KCVI congratulates all Athletic Award winners and athletes this year. It has been a hard year of training with many outstanding achievements.

Welcome to the 2018/19 school year and football season.  This year K.C.V.I. will be offering a Jr. and Sr. Football team in concert with L.C.V.I.

The Jr. team will be coached by Mr. B. Watt from KCVI and Mr. P. Tye from LCVI along with several community volunteers.  The coaching staff is very excited about the opportunity to continue building an enjoyable and competitive program as we look forward to the completion of Kingston Secondary School.  We strongly encourage any interested junior age players (born in 2003 or 2004) to attend the Jr. Camp which starts Tuesday September 4th at Winston Churchill PS from 3:15 pm until 4:45 pm so that coaches can begin the process of handing out permission forms, issuing equipment to players and evaluating player skills.  It is recommended that students have running shoes/cleats, shorts and t-shirts in order to participate in Jr. Training camp activities.  If you have any questions, please email Mr. Watt at

This year the senior football team will be coached by Mr. M. Gordon (LCVI), Mr B. Watt (KCVI) Mr P. Brennen (retired teacher) as well as several community volunteers.  Sr. football tryouts/training camp will run Tuesday August 28th to Thursday August 30th and again from Tuesday September 4th until Friday September 8th from 3:15 pm until 5:00 pm at Winston Churchill PS involving students from both KCVI and LCVI.  There is also a possibility that practice may need to be run on the first weekend of the school year (September 9th and/or 10th) in order to get in the mandatory 8 contact practices before our first game.  This is an issue that all KASSAA teams are facing this year.  It is very important that all senior aged players (born between 1999 and 2002) attend training camp so that we can set our roster early and have all of our players are eligible to play in our first game.
