  • Are you looking for a great way to volunteer?  We are looking for student volunteers to help out at this year’s Regional Science Fair.  The fair will take place during the afternoon and evening of Thursday, March 28th and all day on Friday March 29th at Duncan MacArthur Hall.  You can earn up to 14 volunteer hours and help out at a great event.  If you are interested, please sign up on the list on the Science Office door or see Mr. Haberer.   
  • Hosa Students must bring permission forms to Mr. Cross today at the beginning of lunch in room 112. 
  • Save the date Musicians! For Marvelous Music Monday Mixer in the music room.  Join us for some Fun, Food & Friends!  See you there! 
  • Blood club heads out on Wednesday the 20th! There’s room for 5 more donors. Sign up on the science office door! 
  • There will be a meeting for the Sr. Boys Soccer team Tuesday at 11:15 in room 219.

  • Girls Rugby should meet in room 217 at 3:00 pm to walk to our practice @ Queen’s. Indoor clothing & mouth guards needed.  Find Ms. Pasic if you don’t have a mouth guard.

  • We are having a course selection Blitz all day today.  Any students who have not yet chosen courses for next year should do so today.  Please proceed to Student Services when you can spend approximately 20 minutes there.   
  • The Rotary Leadership Conference is fast approaching.  KC can nominate up to 3 students in grade 10 or 11 to attend.  Please see Ms. Kippen in Student Services for further details. 
  •  A reminder to all Chicago Girls.  If you are ordering a dress get your money to Ms. Hale today during school hours or at practice.

  • Attentions Graduating Students:  If you have not yet had grad photos done, Lifetouch has appointments available the week of March Break.  Call 613-634-1424 to book your appointment. Also reminder that only students with GRAD photos will have grad profiles in the yearbook.  So get your photos taken today. 
  • Hey KC!! So let’s talk new school for a second….are you interested in being that person that has the legacy of creating the new logo for the mascot?  Do you want to walk in the front doors of the school and see your beautiful creation up above?  And if that’s not good enough, there might even be a little prize for the winner.  So KC, we need you… YES YOU to help us create our new KSS Bear Mascot Logo.  Our new bear is gonna be black so let’s all draw a little sketch and hand them in to the main office for Wednesday March 6th! That’s today! Find Emily Flake if you have any questions!

  • Planning on writing the grade 9, 10 or 11 Euclid contest in April? You MUST see Ms Farahani by the end of the day March 7. 
  • Junior Boys Basketball meeting today at lunch. 
  • Congrats to all OFSAA Swimmers?  You Guys did an awesome job!!  Special shout outs to the open girls relay team who won gold!  Katie Pain, Anna Sou & Lilly Chubaty & Morgan Davies.  Katie and Lily also go a silver medal in individual events.  Mackenzie Campbell also added a silver to KC’s metal total. 
  • Interested in playing baseball this spring? Come to an information meeting in room 314 today at lunch. All grades including 9s, girls and boys are welcome to tryout for this coed varsity team. Baseball, room 314 coed/varsity tomorrow at lunch. 
  • There is a mandatory and very important meeting for anyone interested in Rowing at KCVI this spring.  All Rowing team athletes must attend.  Meeting will be held today at beginning of lunch in Room 118 across from Student Services.

  • The member of Parliament Youth Council of Kingston has prepared a petition with the intention and goal to improve environmental sustainability in Canada by banning single-use plastics.  500 signatures are required and your contribution could help our country progress in a good direction and would be greatly appreciated.  You can read the petition and sign it at: https://petitions.ourcommons.ca (petition number e-2102).  If would also be great if you could spread the word and inform people you know who would be interested in signing.  Thank you for your time, Kingston MP Youth Council.
