Monday December 17th 

  • Forget your lunch?  Need something to eat?  This week Youth in Action will be serving vegetable soup.  Come down to the cafeteria on Wednesday at lunch for a free meal.
  • On Friday the 18th KCVI mathlete teams attended the 2019 Senior Math League Competition KCVI placed first & second.  Please congratulate the first place team of Matt Wilson, Johnson Lee, Asher Hounsell & Anannay Sood.  The second place team was Shawn Song, Irene Castellano, Daniel Zhang & Zhen Wang.
  • There is no HOSA meeting today at lunch.
  • If you are interested in talking about mental health, or you need a safe place to talk to other high school students about school or stress, there’s a spot to do it!  Come down to room 226 at lunch on Mondays to bring awareness to mental health and meet new people.  Pizza will be provided! See you today!

  • Do you like pickles?  Do you like having fun?  If you answered yes to any one of these questions sign up for the intramural pickleball tournament Tuesday December 18th and Thursday December 20th!  No experience required!  Sign up in front of the gym or on Tuesday.

  • Graduating students who are interested in applying for the Schulich Leadership Scholarship should have their nominee application submitted to student services by Wednesday, December 28th.  KCVI may nominate one student who is applying in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics to one of the 20 affiliated Canadian Universities.  See the Mr. Lynn or Ms. Kippen in student services for more information, or go to the website to get started.

  • Do you need volunteer hours?  The Salvation Army is once again in need of volunteers for the annual “Christmas Kettle Campaign.”  Please see Cindy in Student Services for more details on how you can earn volunteer hours and help the community.
  • The Holiday Season is upon us!  The Elves have been busy sewing Eco-Friendly gift bags.  Come visit us in Room 121 during lunch time, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays of the month of December.
  • KC is hosting a lip sync battle royal! Video submissions are due by 11:59 December 16. Talk to Grace Jackson or Criswyn Paul for more information!
  • Lifetouch Photography will be at our school from December 4- 14th in the Centennial Room.  Grads can sign up for appointments online at PrestigePortraits.ca or by calling 613-634-1424. There is a $25.00 sitting fee which is payable online or at your appointment, by debit, cash or cheque.  Students who do not which to purchase portraits should still make an appointment to be photographed for the yearbook and composite.  There is no charge for this service.

  • Our Junior and Senior Boys basketball teams are going to be playing their league game in an evening Holiday Fundraiser game next Thursday December 20th at Holy Cross.  The Juniors play at 5:30 and the Seniors at 7 pm.  Money raised from the event will be used to support kids from our feeder schools to help out over the Holidays.  The cost to watch the game is $3.00 per student , $5.00 per adult.  Show you support by bringing you positive cheer to your teams and community next Thursday.  See Mr. Lynn if you have question, or would like to make a donation towards the cause.

  • The Jr. Boys Basketball team played a tough game against Regi last night.  The challenging loss taught some strong lessons, and the team will use them against LCVI Monday night.
  • The Jr. Girls Volleyball team fought hard against Regi last night, pushing the game to 5 sets Dynamite Dounia dominated the court and her enthusiasm echoed through the halls.  Laser Livia moved around the court at the speed of light making Regi work for it! The Brackenbury wall blocked Regi left, right and center.  Way to go girls!
