  • There are permission forms available in the main office for students wishing to go on the drama field trip to Toronto. We will be attending an evening performance of All mighty voice and his wife at the Young centre for performing arts and the world premiere of Yaga at the tarragon theatre. 

 

  • Calling all debaters! Are you ready for another year of fun competitions and amazing opportunities? Well, KCVI Debate is here and we want you! Our first meeting is this Wednesday at lunch in room 323! No experience required. 

 

  • There is a new scholarship posted for graduates for students who have a minimum of 65% average and financial need. It is called the Hiraschio scholarship and the deadline is October 25. See the board in Student Services for more info.

 

  • The Health Occupations Students Association or HOSA will have a brief meeting for all students interested today at 11:15 in room 112. If you are considering a career in a medical or health field, this club is for you! 

 

  • Blood club! There are 5 spots left on the Blood Bus for this Wednesday. If you are 17, sign up on the science office door and give the gift of life!

 

  • From the music department: 1. The choir will meet Monday at lunch. 2. Put band will meet after school tomorrow. 3. Jazz band will being this week on Wednesday after school. 4. The concert band will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings. 5. Jr band will meet lunch on Friday!

  • Grade 11 & 12 students planning on going to St Lawrence college tomorrow: Please bring your permission forms to Student Services today. See Ms Kippen or Mr Byers if you have any questions. 


  • The Environment club / Sweetgrass circle meets today at lunch in room 112. Join us to hear Joych Hostyn tell us about fruit tree guilds and forest gardens. Then get involved in planning one for the new school.


  • KC Let’s Talk meets today at lunch in room 226. Today we are talking strategies to manage stress. Everyone is welcome. 


  • The leadership conference list has been posted outside the main office. If you waited to pay, please bring your cheque to the main office or to Ms Howie. There is a mandatory meeting at lunch Friday in the auditorium. We’re so excited! 


  • Improv club will meet 3:00-4:30 Friday in the EST!


  • Reminder to co-op students to hand in your log hours and reflections to Mr Byers in the co-op room!

  • Buckle up KC!  Did you know that one of the most dangerous things you do in an average day is riding a motor vehicle?  Even if you are a good driver or a passenger in a car drvien by an experienced motorist, the unexpected still occurs.  Since you never know when you might be involved in a crash, buckle up for safety’s sake. No Seatbelt. No excuse.

  • Drama club is starting back up, KC! Our first meeting will be this Thursday at lunch in the Earl Street Theatre. We can’t wait to see some new grade 9s!

  • All students interested in KC swimming: there will be a meeting at lunch in room 203 this Friday.

  • A reminder to all Jr. band members of our rehearsal tomorrow at lunch in the music room. Please bring your lunch so that we can start right away! 

 

  • The Ping Pong club meets today after school outside Gym 3. Starting next week, all Ping Pong meetings will be on Mondays, not Thursdays.

  • Congrats to the Sr Boys volleyball team on a convincing win over Holy Cross last night. The win improves their record to a 4-0 mark. Your coaches are very proud. 

 

  • The Senior Girls Basketball team suffered their first loss of the season last night in an exciting game against Holy Cross. A great defensive effort to hold them to 32 points. Come cheer them on next Thursday at 2:30 after the pep rally.

 

  • There is a GSA meeting today at 12:20 in room 324. New members always welcome!
