  • Congratulations to all “mathletes” who participated in the Senior Math League Tournament at Regi.  Special congratulations to first place team Cameron Smith, Evan Hughes, Kevin Guo and Andy Cai, and third place team Annanay Sood, Myra Chan, Alice Kim and Justine Leung.  Way to Go!

  • Are you feeling chilled?  Wool can keep you warm!  Come to Room 118 to cast on a woolly project for yourself or a loved one. 
  • Hey KC debaters!  Just a quick reminder that Steve Patterson from the CBC debaters will be here at 8:45 in the auditorium.

  • Hey grade 11s and 12s! Would you like to help run the last ever relay for life?  Forms are now available in the main office and are due back to the office, Mr. Haberer or Ms. Bearse by December 13th.  We’re “relay” excited for this year’s event! 
  • The novice girls’ volleyball team will practice Friday this week at lunch in the main gym.  All grade 9 and 10 girls are welcome.  Can’t wait to see you there! 
  • The environment club and sweetgrass circle are having a silent auction on December 17th! Proceeds go to the construction of a Indigenous reading garden at the new school! Come check it out!
  • The environment club and sweetgrass circle are also looking for used, clean, large tablecloths or sheets! They will be making reusable napkins out of them for semi! Bring yours to Ms. Whitfield or Mr. Saunders. If you’d like to help make the napkins, come to the library after school on December 4th.


  • The cover for the very last yearbook has been chosen! Congratulations to Milan Rice for her amazing submission. Thanks to everyone who submitted designs; it was a tough choice!


  • Hey grade 9s and 10s who attended Leadership Camp! Are you missing all the fun? There is a pizza lunch reunion tomorrow in the gym! Can’t wait to see you there! 
  •  Can you touch your tongue to your nose? Do you play the bagpipes? Do you have any talent? Lucky for you, the Holiday Show is coming up! Sign up in the main foyer or talk to Madeline Wood! 
  • Looking for a holiday gift? Socks for the season will be in the main foyer every day for the next three weeks! For every pair you buy, a pair is donated to a local shelter! For every 90 pairs bought, a prosthetic limb is donated to someone in need. Come but some funky socks! 
  • KC Gives Back extended to this Friday! Bring in food/hygiene products to your homerooms and clothing items to student services. Our goal is still 3000 items! Dare to Care KC! 
  • ATTENTION ALL GRADS: Lifetouch Photography will be at our school from December 10-19, 2019 taking Grad Photos in the Centennial Room.  We request that all potential grads sign up for an appointment online at PrestigePortraits.ca or by calling 613-634-1424. There is a $25.00 sitting fee which is payable online or at your appointment, by debit, cash or cheque. If you wish to be photographed for the yearbook and class composite only, please schedule your free appointment and inform the photographer at the time of your session. Class composite pictures are available to be purchased for an additional $25.00. 
  • Support the KCVI Special Olympics teams by purchasing a chocolate treat outside the main office at lunch or in the morning.  Only $3.00!

  • Gooooood morning KC! We would like to give a huge thank you and shout out to everyone who donated items in the past few weeks to the food and hygiene product drive. We passed our goal with 3532 items! Ms Siltanen's class came 1st with over 1000 items, Mr Saunders 2nd with over 500 items, and Mr Davies with over 400 items! We are still collecting until this Friday even though the competition has ended :) 
  • KC Gives Back is running a clothing drive right now! You still have until Wednesday to bring in your unused clothing! On that note, we are holding our very own THRIFT TRADE on Thursday from last period until 4 pm! Trade a clothing item for another, OR pay a couple dollars for something new! Let’s Dare to Care, KC! 
  • Novice girls Volleyball will practice Wednesday at lunch in the main gym. Still time to come out, if you have missed previous practices. All grade 9 and 10 girls welcome.

  • A reminder to all Jr Band members of the dress rehearsal during period B today! 
  • Attention everyone, King Anannay Sood will be teaching a lesson to math club next Tuesday, December 17th. There is no cost of entry and it is mandatory for all math club members.  
  • Do you have questions about post secondary programs or schools? Looking for info about college or university life? Want to find out what high school courses you need? Come to the KCVI Post Secondary Pathway Panel. It will take place in the auditorium on Thursday periods C and D and will feature former KCVI students in a range of programs and institutions. If you have any questions see Mr Compeau or Ms Kirby.  
  • Students enrolled in Specialist High Skills Major: There will be a WHMIS certification course this Friday in periods C and D in room 225.

We will answer your questions and help you get on a path to applying for College next year!

Any grade 12 students who haven’t applied to college or University for next year are encouraged to sign up for an appointment in Student Services to talk about your plans.

● There is a model UN exec meeting this Friday December 6th in room 323 at lunch! Please let Kaitlyn or Mayy know if you can’t make it.

● Improv club will meet 3-4 on Friday in the EST.

● Do you like potato latkes? Then come to the multicultural cooking club this Friday and enjoy cooking with us! Sign up sheet is located across the hall from the main office.

  • Due to the Assembly there is a revised schedule today.  After period B class there will be a break - then all students are asked to return to their period B class and wait for the announcement to proceed to the assembly.
