There are nine curriculum-based departments at KCVI. Active Living combines Physical and Health Education with Geography.  The department head is Mike Patterson. Kevin Wood is the head of the Business and Computers department.  This department also includes the Library and Co-op. The English department head is Sam Miller. Jennifer Bailey is in charge of the Languages department.  Spanish, Latin and French (Core, Extended and Immersion) are taught at KCVI. Stephanie DeVries Howie is the head of Liberal Arts.  The Liberal Arts department includes History, Philosophy, Economics, Family Studies and Law. The Mathematics department head is Beverly Farahani. Gary Pattenden is the head of Practical Arts.  This department includes Art, Drama, Music and Technology. The head of the Science department is Matt Saunders. Cyndi Forrest-Gregoire is the head of Student Services. This department includes StreetSmart and the Leadership programs.
