Monday April 10th @ 7:00pm in the Auditorium
Supporting Your Children’s Healthy Relationships Online and Offline
One of our jobs as parents is to support our children to learn positive ways of interacting on-and off-line, and to keep them safe. Sometimes this process is not easy, especially when it comes to technology and online relationships. Bullying is a destructive relationship problem that requires relationship solutions. Ongoing exposure to stressful relationships, such as bullying, and the stressful biological responses that they create places youth at risk for physical, mental, and social health problems.
This presentation will provide an overview of how to support our children and youth develop healthy relationships online and offline. Technology is here to stay, and while you may not know how to use all the apps your children use, you can be an effective parent in supporting them to have healthy relationships on and offline.
Presenter: Dr. Wendy Craig is an expert on bullying prevention and the promotion of healthy relationships. As co-founder and co-Scientific Director of PREVNet (Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network), she has transformed our understanding of bullying and effectively translated the science into evidence-based practise, intervention, and policy.
