KCVI Turns 225 Celebrations

As Canada turns 150 in 2017, Kingston Collegiate & Vocational Institute (KCVI) will also recognize a milestone - its 225 birthday. To help mark this significant anniversary, KCVI will host several events and activities during a special reunion weekend September 28 to October 1, 2017. The weekend will provide an opportunity for current students and staff, alumni and the downtown community to reminisce and celebrate the tradition of excellence in athletics, arts and activities at KCVI. Save the date, and watch for more details coming soon.

The KCVI Turns 225 Committee, a volunteer committee of current and former KCVI staff, has been working diligently to put together a dynamic weekend of events. We are asking anyone intending to attend even one event to register via the online registration tool called Eventbrite. This tool will help us to promote our events, manage attendance, and collect admission fees where applicable. It will also allow us to provide you with ongoing updates as we add or amend various events.

Stay up-to-date on celebration events and other events by joining our Facebook page.

We are planning approximately 2 hours of Coffee House acts~between 7 pm and 10 pm on Friday, September 29, 2017. Depending upon response and interest, each act may get approximately 10-15 minutes of stage time (2 songs?) If we have greater response than this we may expand to an Open Mic segment in the auditorium earlier in the evening. The specific format for the evening will be set after acts have been confirmed. We will provide a professional sound system with sound technician, and hope to have a 'back-line' consisting of a drum kit, bass amp, guitar amp(s) and a few microphones. There is a piano in the auditorium too.

If you would like to re-visit the KCVI stage and perform in our auditorium perhaps one last time, contact Mike Patterson
